PROFILE - RICHARD J. HENLEY
Richard J. Henley, FACHE, FHFMA serves as President & CEO at Healthcare Strategic Solutions, LLC, an advisory firm focused on optimizing enterprise value for health systems, hospitals, private equity firms, portfolio companies and other business entities through effective governance, strategy development, operational and financial excellence, and business growth.
Richard is a seasoned and accomplished executive who has held senior leadership positions in a wide range of healthcare settings including at an academic medical center, at a multi-hospital system and at community hospitals. Richard brings over thirty years experience as a Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Chief Operating Officer (COO), Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) and Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
Richard simultaneously earned a Master of Arts and Bachelor of Arts, Summa Cum Laude, from The City College of the City University of New York, where he was also inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.
Richard is Board Certified in healthcare management and is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA). Richard has served in national leadership positions as Chairman of the Board of the Healthcare Financial Management Association and on the Board of Governors of the American College of Healthcare Executives. He is the recipient of several awards from HFMA, including the Founder's Medal of Honor and National Life Membership. He also received the Distinguished and Exemplary Service Awards from ACHE.
Richard has held faculty appointments at several graduate programs in healthcare management including the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He has served as Chairman or as a Director on a number of business, private equity portfolio company, civic and professional association boards. He has also been a frequent speaker at national, regional and local conferences, and has published articles in professional journals.
